MESSAGE FROM THE INVENTOR“I started my apprenticeship as a refrigeration mechanic in the 1990s, servicing air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. By 1996, I had started my own business and was employing 13 technicians and installers whilst continuing to work on the tools myself.Over the years I had become very good and very quick at using the tools for copper (as most fridgies do), however I was often reminded of the mistakes that could be made whilst preparing copper and how time consuming it was. I dreamed of how much easier it would be for my installers to use a softer, more flexible material than copper. This desire gradually developed into a working concept of using a flexible hose material which we engineered to handle R410A and R134A. After rigorous testing and approvals, we began testing this product on jobs in our own business. We found that our installers saved up to 1 hour of time installing split systems and several hours of time on a ducted system. The saving in time and money, as well as the improved quality of the work was invaluable for the growth of our business. In 2004, after many years of testing and applying this product, I understood how this could help other businesses in similar industries. So we made plans to release the product onto the market. I named our product Spartflex because it was strong, reliable and versatile. Since 2010 we have introduced new sizes of Spartaflex, such as the inch size, which currently only comes in 6 metre lengths of copper. By using Spartaflex instead of copper on jobs where inch size was required, we saved up to 6 hours per job due to the fact that no soldering is required.
